![]() | Welcome ! Mr D'Arcy's Heritage Fruit Trees specialises in offering heritage and unusual varieties for gardeners, allotment holders, landowners & organisations. Grafted 1 or 2 year old trees are available on plant health certified rootstocks, in 3 litre, 7 litre or 12 litre containers, convenient to plant at any time or as bare root trees between December and March for mail order delivery. The catalogue includes classic, rare and unusual varieties of fruit trees including apples, pears, plums, damsons, cherries, peaches, figs, quinces and medlars - each selected for its flavour and overall performance. Fruit trees are available to order through this website - please send an e-mail to order through 'contact us' below or telephone 07704 860404 to discuss your requirements. Trees can be obtained at various events, shows and talks through the year. Our special 'Graft to Save' service can help preserve or rejuvenate favourite trees for the future or perhaps re-start them on more dwarf rootstock for ease of management. Enquiries about planning and supplying trees for small orchards, walled gardens and other garden or community projects are very welcome. Environmental Stewardship Schemes may be catered for with local varieties grown on traditional, vigorous orchard rootstocks. Advice on management plans and maintenance services can be provided.
Gardening Scotland 2010 Fri 4th - Sun 6th June Come and see us at Stand 157 in the Floral Hall where we will have a wide range of fruit trees in containers suitable for growing in Scotland, including some heritage Scottish varieties.
May 2010 : Container grown trees can still be planted provided attention is paid to watering and especially so in any drier spell through the coming summer. As fruit sets following blossom, plan to thin the young fruitlets down to two per cluster later in June (after the natural 'June drop') and then down to just one per cluster of blossom for larger, better flavoured fruit at hervest time.
